KUREDU RESORT MALDIVES ENHANCES VILLA CATEGORIES, SIMPLIFIES ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGES

Kuredu Resort Maldives has announced plans to improve room categorisation, as well as simplify its all-inclusive packages for guest convenience.

“Kuredu is a resort that gets a kick out of improving on its offering, but with so much going on, knowing what’s included in your holiday can get confusing at times. It is in our interest to ensure that the benefits are clear to you so that you use everything you’ve paid for. We know you’ve been counting down to this holiday since forever,” an announcement by the resort read.

MALDIVES’ TOURIST ARRIVALS POST RECORD HALF-YEARLY GROWTH

The first half of this year recorded the highest growth in tourist arrivals in the first half-yearly period in the past five years, the Maldives’ tourism promotion body announced Thursday. Thoyyib Mohamed, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), told journalists that tourist arrivals to the Maldives in the first half of the year observed year-over-year growth of 19 per cent.

“This is the best January-June period for tourist arrivals since 2013,” he said.

CROSSROADS, MALDIVES’ FIRST INTEGRATED TOURIST DESTINATION, OPENS

First phase of Crossroads Maldives, the first integrated tourist destination in the Maldives, has opened.

Crossroads, a deeply sustainable development owned by Thailand’s leading developer Singha Estate, encompasses nine idyllic islands fringing the Emboodhoo Lagoon in the South Male Atoll. Three of the islands have been used as the first phase of the project, encompassing two resorts, as well as The Marina @ Crossroads — an 800-metre lifestyle area and beach walk which features retail, entertainment and dining outlets.

SINGAPORE AIRLINES DEPLOYS NEW 787-10 DREAMLINER ON MALDIVES SERVICE

Singapore Airlines has deployed its new 787-10 Dreamliner on its Maldives service. A water salute was given as Singapore Airlines’ first 787-10 Dreamliner to the Maldives landed at the country’s main Velana International Airport Sunday evening.

A ceremony was held at the airport’s Maamehi Executive Lounge to celebrate the arrival of the state-of-the-art aircraft. During the ceremony, Singapore Airlines’ cabin crew were presented with garlands and corporate gifts were exchanged between Singapore Airlines and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

FURAVERI MALDIVES TO HOST PADI MEMBER FORUM

Furaveri Maldives has announced plans to host a PADI Member Forum.

This one-of-a-kind venture by PADI, in association with Dive Club and Furaveri Maldives, will be held from September 15-18. The event aim to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our surroundings clean and free of debris in order to maintain and promote environmental health.

Kicking off on September 15 with a networking evening at Furaveri Maldives, the event will witness several dives on each day. All interested participants can take part in these dives.
